Meet the ApHCC Staff

Executive Secretary - Suzanne Fjordbotten

This native of Oyen, Alberta began early to build on her family's involvement with Appaloosas. She showed 4H and later in regional Appaloosa shows. Suzanne is a former Miss Appaloosa Queen of 1987 -1988, and has served the ApHCC in several capacities since the fall of 1987. She was Executive Secretary of the organization from 1989 to 1996 and has been in that post again since November of 1999. Her duties include general office management, supervision of all aspects of the ApHCC including registrations, shows and awards and committee liaisons. She lives in the country not far from Claresholm with husband Wayne and sons Scott and Ryan. Oh, there are three Appaloosa mares as well. Suzanne notes that the most enjoyable part of her job is meeting and working with Appaloosa people from across the country.

A native of Claresholm, Carol spent 20 years in Invermere, B.C. before returning to Claresholm in 1994. She worked with CP Rail for over ten years and was a motel Relief Manager for five years. She's been with the ApHCC since 1997. Though she's never owned an Appaloosa, she has loved them from the first time she saw the Walt Disney classic, Run Appaloosa, Run back in the 60's. She resides in Claresholm with her son Chuck and 3 cats. "I really like telling people I work for the ApHCC. I think is so neat to work for a breed registry".
